David Wayne Robertson

Sunset – June 23, 2023

David Wayne Robertson passed away Friday, June 23, 2023 at UofL Hospital.  He was surrounded by his close family and an abundance of love. 
Dave was a gift to this world.  He was an exceedingly caring father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, uncle, cat dad, neighbor and friend.  He enjoyed life and never met a stranger.  Everyone who knew him knew him to be a “Good” man.  He had undying love for his daughters, grandchildren, siblings and friends. 
David loved God and had a love-affair with his faith community, St. Mark’s United Church of Christ in New Albany.  He always had God in his heart and ever sought to love, serve and be a friend to others in that light.
Besides watching sporting events, he loved playing golf.  Dave had been an athlete in high school, college and throughout his early adulthood.  Some of his fondest life memories include the time he spent playing little league baseball in Charlestown, Indiana.
Dave had an uncommon appreciation of cars and trucks (units he called them) and purchased and sold them like water passing through a sieve. 
Dave had an insatiable appetite and love for Mexican food.  He loved going out to eat and El Nopal was at the very top of the list. 
He is survived by his two daughters, Jill Reas (John) and Jenna Brown (Mark); his siblings Hanson Robertson (Connie), Eugene Robertson (Linda), Rebecca Chapman, and Tom Robertson; grandchildren Cheyenne Cooper and Clayton Kennedy, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas C. Robertson and Martha Gray Robertson and beloved sister Nancy Whisman.
Visitation will be Wednesday June 28, 2023 from 12:00pm until 8:00pm and Thursday June 29 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Garr Funeral Home – Sellersburg, Indiana.  Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. John Sterrett beginning at 1:00pm on Thursday. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark’s United Church of Christ, 222 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
