David Arthur Markin , 77, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 3, 2018. He was born on September 1, 1941 to the late James and Doris Markin (Milligan) in Delaware County, Indiana. Mr.Markin honorably served his country in the United States Air Force and the United States Navy with a combined 20 years of service. In his retirement years he worked as an over the road truck driver. Mr. Markin was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church located in Clarksville, Indiana. He enjoyed writing Christian songs and singing them for audiences. Mr. Markin enjoyed traveling from nursing home to nursing home spreading the word of god with the residents through his music. He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Yvonne Markin and by his brother, Wayne Markin.

Survivors include his loving wife, Regina Markin of Clarksville, his daughter, Tami Sue Simms of Telford Pennsylvania, his brother, Hugh Markin of Springhill, Florida and his granddaughter, Brianna Simms of Telford Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
