Darren Wilson Butler

Darren Wilson Butler, 59, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky surrounded by his family. He was born on November 24, 1964, in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Darren worked for many years at Jeff boat ship yard of Jeffersonville.  A proud and honorable United States Army veteran, Darren served his country and continued his commitment to fellow veterans as a dedicated member of the American Legion Post 234 in Scottsburg, Indiana.

Darren was a NASCAR fan, with a special admiration for his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. His love for sports extended to the basketball court, where he cheered fervently for the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Beyond his sporting passions, Darren found tranquility in fishing, a pastime he cherished in his free time.

He was preceded in death by his step-sons, Dillon and Dakota Grubb, by his parents, Paul & Carol Stone and by his brother-in-law, Timothy Prince.

Survivors include his son, Jason Butler (Katie) of New Salisbury, Indiana, his daughters, Jessica Bricker (Cody) of Greenville, Indiana, Danyel Klotz (Daniel) of Lanesville, Indiana, his brother, Paul Stone (Kris) of Otisco, Indiana and his sister, Tonna Prince of Sellersburg. Darren also leaves his 10 grandchildren with cherished memories, Jayden, Karlee, Ethan, Ameliah, Bentley, Malayah, Monroe, Cameron, Brooks and Cody.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) with interment to follow at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
