Danny Lee Hinton was born on March 26th, 1955 just a few miles North East of Louisville Kentucky. He passed away in the early morning on March 2nd, 2020 in Borden Indiana where he was living with his sister.
Danny spent most of his life serving his country after enlisting in the Army in September of 1974. Danny was assigned as a 63H40 Track Vehicle Mechanic in the U.S Army, Fort Knox, KY. After his active duty time, he immediately obtained a job with U.S. Army Material Command (AMC). Prior to his retirement, Danny held a continuous 36 years of service with the Army where he earned the following awards for his outstanding and uncompromising patriotic service:
35 Year DAC Award, 1 Superior Civilian Service Award, 3 Army Achievement Awards, 6 Commanders Awards, Operation Iraqi Freedom Campaign Award, Desert Storm Campaign Award, Desert Shield Campaign Award, Task Force Falcon (Kosovo) Campaign Award, Task Force Eagle (Bosnia) Campaign Award, Operation Joint Endeavor Campaign Award, Positive Force Campaign Award, Excalibur Campaign Award, Operation Enduring Freedom Campaign Award, and received 18 Letters of Commendation including several from United States Army Generals.
When Danny wasn’t working to keep America safe, he loved to go deep sea fishing, spend time with his wife Judy Hinton, his bulldog Bentley, and his tea cup yorkie Zoe girl. Danny also spent many years coaching baseball where he was known for giving the most incredible nicknames to all of his players. He was also known to send model rockets into orbit, never to be seen again! Lastly, he gave up his green grass and nice view of a backyard, so that a bunch of BMXers could build ramps.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Patricia Hinton of Sellersburg Indiana.
Danny will be greatly missed, and is survived by his love Judy Hinton, his sons Hank and Trey Hinton, his daughter Haley Harshbarger (his sunshine), his sister Debbie Bartley, his brother Donny Hinton, his brother in law and lifelong friend Robert Bartley, his grandsons Danny Hinton, Elijah Hinton, Liam Hinton, his granddaughter Ellie Hinton, as well as many other family members that loved him dearly.
