Charles A. Minton

Charles A. Minton, 89, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Rolling Hills Healthcare Center in New Albany, Indiana. He was born on January 30, 1930 to the late Joseph and Bessie Minton (White) in Kyrock, Kentucky. Mr. Minton retired from Jeffboat Ship Building Company where he worked as a foreman.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Reburon, Fred, Keith, Joel, Paul and Basil Minton and by his sisters, Fennetta Sillings and Maud Minton.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Etta Mae Minton of Memphis, Indiana, his son, Charles R. Minton (Debbie) of Salem, Indiana, his daughter, Alice Williams Stein (Joseph) of Charlestown, Indiana, his brother, Danny Bob Minton (Sue) of Scottsburg, Indiana, his sisters, Earline Broady of Memphis, Pauline Pruett of Scottsburg, Pauletta Crider of Tampa Florida, Amanda Townsend (Neal) of Ft. Rucker, Alabama, his grandchildren, Susan Leister (David), Greg Williams, Bridgett Williams, Chuck Minton, Chad Minton, Christie Minton, great grandchildren, Amy Leezer (Joseph), Travis Byers, Justin Byers, Allison Osterhout (Michael), Zoe Williams, Callie Williams, Hayden Williams, Phoenix Williams and Jennifer Olando. Mr. Minton also leaves behind 3 great-great grandchildren to cherish his memory, Reed, Elizabeth Leezer and Eli Osterhout.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 14, 2019 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
