Carl Kamer Obituary

Carl Edward Kamer, born October 29, 1929, to the late Gus and Mary Kamer, passed away on November 8, 2025 at the age of 96. He was a resident of Sellersburg, Indiana. He retired from International Harvester. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Sellersburg American Legion Post 204.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, Jean Waiz, Al Kamer, and Helen Kamer.

Carl is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Joyce (Walker) Kamer and daughter Carla Kron (Kent).

Carl was the Silver Creek Township Trustee, Silver Creek Township Assessor, and served on the Sellersburg Town Board for several years. He cut grass at the Silver Creek Township Park up into his 90's, it was one of his true passions. He enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. He followed Notre Dame football, Indiana basketball, and the Cincinnati Reds.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday November 15, 2025 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (2253 West St. Joe Road, Sellersburg, Indiana) with interment to follow a St. Joe Hill Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday November 15, 2025 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the mass also at the church.
