Beatrice G. Carpenter (Farley), 83, passed to her rewards in heaven on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at her residence in Charlestown, Indiana. Beatrice was born on May 8, 1939 in Gobles Michigan to William Burton Farley, Sr. and Hallie Farley (Kinner). She married Virgil R. Carpenter on November 26, 1975 in Bangor, Michigan. She worked in customer service for most of her life. Beatrice worked at Bangor Foods, Adams Electronics of Bangor, K-Mart of Louisville, Kentucky and Walmart of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Seneca, South Carolina. The most enjoyable job she had was at the Golden Brown Bakery store in Watervliet, Michigan. She had many dear friends as customers and always greeted them with a big smile.
Beatrice was very talented with ceramics. She enjoyed painting many beautiful ceramic angels and giving them to people who were ill or in the hospital. In more recent years she enjoyed reading, watching T.V., doing word searches and coloring in her adult coloring books. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Beatrice was a very dear friend to all she knew. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her sister Estella Krystecki, by her brothers, Harry Farley and William Farley and by her brother-in-laws, Daniel Tackett and Louis Williams.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil Carpenter, her daughters, Linda Carpenter, Carol Cutright, her sons, Dennis Tackett, Lonnie Tacket (Kelly), Virgil Carpenter, Jr., Eric Carpenter (Kimberly), her sisters, Wilma Tackett, Helen Williams, Mary Farley, Terry Wendling and by her dearest friends, Bonnie Booker. Beatrice also leaves 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Midway Baptist Church ( 7517 Red Arrow Hwy, Watervliet, MI 49098) with interment to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hartford, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Garr Funeral Home of Sellersburg, Indiana is entrusted with the arrangements.
