William "Bill" S. Packwood , 88, of Charlestown, Indiana entered eternal life on Saturday, April 26, 2025 with his family by his side. Bill was born June 4, 1936 to Robert and Sally Packwood of Jeffersonville, Indiana, after graduating from Charlestown High school; he served in the United States Army. Returning home to Clark County, he worked at Cliffs Truck Stop where he met his wife of 53 years, Linda. He was later employed by Jeffboat ship yard as a first class painter. He retired from Jeffboat and Whitehouse Paint Company.

Bills hobbies included playing bingo, going to auctions and yard sales, working in the garage, playing poker and spending time with his family. He also had an eye for antique muscle cars.

He will always be remembered for being the life of the party. His smile and laughter was contagious. He was loved by many who will cherish his love, his advice and memories that he so openly shared with everyone he loved.

Bill was preceded In Death by his parents, Robert and Sally Packwood, by his brothers, Tom Packwood and Richard Packwood, by his sisters Virginia Anderson and Dorothy Hayes, by his nephews, Kevin Stewart and Ronnie Packwood, by his father-in-law, Etzell Stewart, his mother-in-law, Virginia Stewart, by his sister-in-law, Patricia Stewart and by his brother-in-law, John Stewart.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Packwood of Charlestown, his daughters, Sandy Packwood of Charlestown, Sherry Brock (Paul) of Charlestown and their children and grandchildren, his brother Ron Packwood (Tina), his sisters-in-law, Charlotte Packwood, Jean Hogue (David), Patricia Stewart  (Steve), Yvonne Stewart (Richard). Bill leaves many nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172).

To honor Bills wishes a celebration of life will be held on Wednesday at the Prather School House (6348 Charlestown-Jeffersonville Pike, Jeffersonville, IN 47130) immediately after the service. The family encourages all friends and family to bring pictures of Bill and stories to share in the celebration of his life.
