William Thomas Payne, Jr. ,69, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2023, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on June 9, 1954, to the late William T. Payne, Sr. and Mary Genevieve Buehler in Louisville, he leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories.

William, known for his unwavering commitment to family, was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His retirement from the Ford Motor Company allowed him to embrace his passions fully. He found joy in collecting baseball cards, attending auctions, and cheering passionately for Notre Dame Football. His love for Christmas was infectious, creating cherished traditions and unforgettable moments for his family.

A man of faith, William attended church service at both Saint Augustine Catholic Church and Wall Street United Methodist Church, embodying his spiritual values in his daily life. His warm smile, kind heart, and strong family values will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Payne of Jeffersonville, Indiana, his sons, Jason Michael Payne of Pendleton, Indiana, Brandon Robert Payne (Charla) of New Albany, Indiana, his daughter, Rebecca  MaryAnn Payne of Jeffersonville, Indiana, his brother, Patrick Payne (Kim) of New Albany, Indiana and his sisters, Mary Broy (Dickie) of Utica, Indiana, Sharon Seese of Jeffersonville, Indiana and Kathleen Parish (Donnie) of Jeffersonville, Indiana. William also leaves 4 grandchildren to cherish his memory, Keelan, Lexie, Maliyah and Luka.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 5, 2023 at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) with entombment to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
