Virginia "Ginny" Thornbury, 83, passed away Tuesday April 19, 2016 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. She was born in Greenville, Kentucky to Morton and Birchie Harkins. Virginia worked in the cafeteria at Stout Elementary School in Sellersburg and was an avid bingo player. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Thornbury, Sr. and a brother Jewell Harkins.

Virginia is survived by sons Walter Thornbury, Jr., of Sellersburg, Indiana, Ronnie (Penny) Thornbury of Borden, Indiana, a daughter Sandra (Sheldon) Dennison, of Laconia, Indiana; grandchildren Rick Casey, Patrick Thornbury, Zachery Thornbury, Hes Rhodes, Autumn Dennison, Abby Dennison, and Shelbi Thornbury; and great grandchildren Zoie Nurse, Aidan Rhodes, and Grayson Rhodes.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday April 23, 2016 at Garr Funeral Home followed by burial in Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-8PM and Saturday from 9 AM until the time of service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.garrfuneralservices.com.
