IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia "Sue"
(Sizemore) Mosley
September 24, 1935 – April 22, 2021
Virginia Sue (Sizemore) Mosley , 85, passed away peacefully this morning at University Hospital where she was receiving post-stroke care. Sue was preceded in death by her husband Bill Mosley. Sue is survived by sons David Mosley (Guinever) and Steven Mosley and daughters Paige Mosley and Stacy Ethington (Chuck); grandchildren Jacob Zehnder, Luke Zehnder, Zack Zehnder, Isabel Mosley, and Grant Ethington; six great-grandchildren: Stella, Scarlett and Sophia Zehnder, Rhaegan and Jackson White, Myah Hicks
She was born September 24, 1935 in Hyden Kentucky, youngest child of W.R. "Roy" and Virgie Sizemore. Her siblings, Walter, Merle, Marshall and sister Jean, passed before her. Sue married Bill Mosley in 1957 when they were attending Union College in Barbourville Ky where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. Sue and Bill moved to Louisville, then Sellersburg Indiana where they started a family. They both were high school teachers in the West Clark school system. She received her Master's degree in Education from Spalding University in the mid-sixties.
Sue was a strong-minded, intelligent person who valued her family above all things and who overcame many obstacles in life through sheer determination and willpower. A person of integrity and strength, Sue was dedicated to teaching and improving the lives of others. In retirement, she volunteered at church, traveling to Russia on mission trip, and volunteered as an usher at Actors Theater in Louisville. It is impossible to tell in these few words, the entirety of her person. What she would ask of her children and students would not be easy, but would require growth and build character that would serve throughout life. Most importantly, Sue was loved.
Services will be Tuesday, April 27, 2021 visitation beginning at 10 a.m. and Funeral at 1 p.m. at Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg.
