Viola Sprigler Toby , age 99, entered eternal life on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at her home in Floyds Knobs, Indiana. Viola grew up in the same home she passed away in. She was from the Greatest Generation and her hard work reflected that. She spent her 99 years on the family farm (4th generation). Viola was a lifelong member of the St. Joe Hill Catholic Church. She thoroughly enjoyed gardening, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Viola was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Toby, by her brothers, Wilfred and Elmer Sprigler and by her sister, Virginia Toby.

Survivors include her daughters, Angela Ratledge ( Doug Burton) of Floyds, Knobs, Patricia Stumler (Dan) of New Albany and her 6 grandchildren, Regina Manning (John), Pamela Miller (Mike), Damian Stumler (Sunneye), Rochelle Balmer (Tyler), Michael Ratledge (Tiffany) and David Ratledge (Taylor). Viola also leaves behind 12 great grandchildren to cherish her memory, Kassidy, Jacob, Ethan, Owen, Leah, Brookelyn, Gunner, Brighton, Lilly, Paisley, Turner, and Thayer.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Joe Hill Chapel  2605 W St Joe Rd, Sellersburg, IN 47172) with interment to follow at St. Joe Hill Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Garr Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
