Vera I. Smith , 85, passed away, Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Kindred Rolling Hills in New Albany.  She retired from Liberty National and a member of Borden Community Church.  Vera enjoyed knitting, reading and playing golf.  She was preceded in death by her previous husband, Vincent Smith and brothers, Kinnard and Leon Jackson.  Surviving are, husband, Charles E. Smith, Borden, Sons, Eric (Jennifer) Smith, Memphis, Kris Smith and his companion Marilu Rush, Pekin, daughter, Michele Smith and her companion Kevin Bethe, Sellersburg, step-children, Gregory E. Smith, Colorado, Pamela Chesser, Florence, Kentucky and their family, grandchildren, Lucas (Alicia) Smith and Dalton Smith, great-granddaughter, Alexis Smith.  Funeral services will be held 10AM Saturday at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with entombment to follow at Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.  Visitation will be Friday from 12-8PM and anytime after 9AM until the time of service on Saturday.
