Vance Estel Miller , 81, entered eternal life on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Baptist Health Floyd Memorial Hospital with his family by his side after a short illness. He was a native of Pekin/Washington County, Indiana, a retired over-the-road truck driver and served his country in the United States Army in Korea. Vance was a member of the Sellersburg American Legion Post #204, New Albany VFW Post #1693 and the Sellersburg Moose Lodge #1757. Vance enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years Hollis A. (Powers) Miller, his parents Thomas E. & Edna V. (Davis) Miller of Washington County, Indiana, his brothers Elmo, Darrell, Garth and Billie Miller and his sisters Mary Katherine Nale, Helen G. Nale, Jewel J. Cooper and Judy L. Bobo.

Survivors include one son Ralph E. Miller, daughters Connie Fox, Julie A. (Larry) Miller-Riggs, Toni L. (Sam) Miller-Faris, Edna "Jane" Miller and one foster daughter Sandra J. Gregory-Johnson, 13 grandchildren: Jayna, Becki, Mary, Keri, Amy, Jessi, Maria, Andrew, Tara, Aaron, Shawn, Ronnie W. and Rachel, 15 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, one sister, Dollyene R. Miller-Sullivan of Borden, a host of several nieces, nephews, and his lady friend, Jan Rogers and her family.

Cremation was chosen to fulfill Vance's wishes. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with a private burial at a later date.
