IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tommy Dean
Ledbetter
October 12, 1976 – January 16, 2026
Tommy D. Ledbetter, 49, of Springfield, MO passed away on January 16, 2026 in Clarksville, IN.
He was born in New Albany, IN on October 12, 1976. At the age of 15, he came into the home of Melissa D. May with a personality as big as his size. He came on scene as the most lovable, caring, and protective brother and son. He was a child that was very motivated to succeed. After graduating at the age of 16, he apprenticed as a diesel mechanic and worked in that industry for many years.
Ledbetter possessed a skill in creating music that was filled with passion. While living in Hawaii, he developed his skills in music production, and creating beats for multiple artists around the world. He forged friendships that would last a lifetime with the most amazing people.
Specifically, with Wendall and Heather Lau. When he came home from Hawaii, he continued working in production and music. There are so many people that have had the pleasure of having a memory recording with him in "Moms basement" at the big house. The basement later became the first studio of MTP (Mister Thomas Payne).
Many people knew Ledbetter as a very successful car salesman at Swope in Clarksville, IN. If you did, he probably asked you, "Do you like ice cream?"—his favorite line to use to change the no's into yes's.
In March of 2025, he got his CDL and purchased his first truck with PRIME Trucking. He loved everything about life on the road, especially the landscape while driving from Arizona into New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by Aaron C. May (brother); Edna Scott "Mo", Charles Scott "Po" (grandparents); Jason Craven (cousin); and Andrew Fraze (cousin).
He is survived by his mother, Melissa D. May; his sons, Jeffrey Ledbetter and Kevin Ledbetter (Nicole Cochran); 6 grandchildren, 2 of which are Madilynn Cochran and Izabella Ledbetter; his sisters, Kassidy Wilson (Matthew) and Ciera May (Evan Mckune); his nieces, Zariya and Wednesday May.
Ledbetter lived a great life filled with wonderful people, unforgettable memories, and a deep appreciation for food. He lived life to the fullest and kept everything blunt. If he were here, he would want us to wrap this up with his favorite two words… SCUBBA STEVE!
Cremation was chosen to honor Ledbetter's wishes.
