It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tina Michelle Collins, who entered eternity on Saturday, January 11th, 2025 at her home after a long battle with lung disease. Born on Saturday, October 30th, 1971, in Glasgow, Kentucky, Tina lived a life full of love, laughter and generosity. She was 53 years old.

Tina resided in Charlestown, Indiana for most of her life where she created a haven filled with love for her family. She is cherished and survived by her daughters: Nikki Rein (Jared), Bethany Rein (Dylan) Gregica "Shea" Campbell, Mandy Collins, Teslin Tompkins (Stacey).  Tina's legacy lives on in her adored grandchildren: Landon Summers, Isabella Suddeth, Lincoln Summers, Kyla Boman, Fletcher Tompkins, Danika Boman, Mason Campbell, and ElainaMae Tompkins. Tina was also looking forward to welcoming her two newest grandchildren that are on the way. She also leaves behind her brothers, Michael McDowell (Claudia) and Wendell "Junior" Sowers, her step- sister, Angel Willoughby (Allan), her dear Aunt Helen Browning, her best friend, Melissa Nelson-Coursey (Doug) and many nieces and nephews. Tina also leaves her two chihuahuas Peanut Butter and Laddy Bug. Her fur-babies never left her side.

Tina was preceded in death by her father, Wendell Dale Sowers Sr., and her mother, Geneva Ann King. She was also preceded and deeply influenced by her maternal grandparents, Arthur and Madeline Rupe, who were instrumental in her upbringing. Her fondest childhood memories included working the tobacco with her grandfather in the fields of Barren County, Kentucky where the seeds of her strength and character were cultivated.

A devoted homemaker for most of her life, Tina's primary joy was in raising her five daughters who were the light of her life. In her later years, her home making skills led her to start Collins Cleaning and Painting LLC, a commercial cleaning and painting business serving local establishments. Her work ethic shone through in every task she undertook, including her roles at Garr Funeral Home, where she provided monthly deep cleaning services until her health necessitated retirement.

Beyond her family commitments, Tina was a nurturing presence, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Whether transporting family members to doctor's appointments or offering assistance to those struggling, Tina embodied compassion for others well-being. She was especially passionate about spending time with her grandchildren and took great pleasure in decorating her home for the holidays, spreading joy and warmth to all who entered her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172). Following the service, Tina will be laid to rest next her mother at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
