Stephen Dale Prather, 62, entered eternal life on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family.  He served his country honorably  in the United States Army Special Forces, served as a Subrogation Analyst for Rawlings Company, a former volunteer at the Sellersburg Fire Department and a member of Southeast Christian Church.  Steve received an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts and Bachelor's Degree in Business from Sullivan University.  He was a member of the Phi Kappa Alpha fraternity at IUS.  Steve also served his community through many volunteer activities including leadership services to the Boy Scouts of America, preparing meals for the homeless and the New Chapel Fire Department.  He was preceded in death by his father, Robert "Bob" Prather.  Surviving are his loving wife, Cindy Martin Prather, mother, Peggy Prather Powell, son, Stephen Douglas Prather, and daughter, Stephanie Prather Duncan.  Funeral services will be held 11AM Saturday, November 28th at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with burial to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday, November 27th from 2-8PM and anytime after 9AM until the time of service on Saturday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
