Shirley Stepp Barnhart , 86, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2022. She was born on April 30, 1935 to the late Raymon and Lillian Stepp in Bennettsville, Indiana. She was a graduate of Silver Creek High School, Class of 1953. She furthered her education at Indiana University, earning her degree in 1957. She was a vice president at Prudential Home Mortgage in Gaithersburg, Maryland until her retirement. She returned to Sellersburg, Indiana with the late Dr. Benjamin J. Barnhart and enjoyed volunteering at Sellersburg United Methodist Church as well as the food pantry in Jeffersonville. Shirley is preceded in death by her sister Barbara Stepp Dawson. Survivors include her sister, Lillian Stepp Curtis, her son Jamison Jon Barnhart and daughter Elizabeth Rae Barnhart.

Funeral services to be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with internment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the service at the funeral home.
