IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruth Arnettie
(Beasley) Thomas
March 25, 1948 – January 24, 2017
Ruth Arnettie Thomas, 68, of New Salisbury, Indiana returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. Ruth was born on March 25, 1948, to the late James Beasley and Gwendolyn Young Beasley in New Eagle, Pennsylvania.
Ruth was a member of Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany, and loved the Lord. She was an exceptional baker and home cook, and began her career as a baker at the Huff Bakery in Cleveland, OH at the age of 16. From there she pursued a career in nursing that spanned over thirty-five years. Ruth began as an ICU nurse and her career included over 15 years at Floyd Memorial Hospital as an oncology nurse and a pediatric nurse. Ruth was as caring for her patients as she was for her family giving freely of herself to others. She was a generous, loving grandmother and her grandchildren were a constant joy to her. Her favorite hobby was gardening and she enjoyed the splendor of the outdoors.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 48 years Paul Thomas Jr.; daughters, Stacy Stem (Chris), and Susan Miles (Bob); grandchildren Owen Miles, Ella Stem and Grace Miles and brothers James Beasley, Charles Beasley, and Scott Beasley along with many other extended family members and friends.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 30th, 2017 at Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg, IN. A private burial will follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
