It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Edward Salmon, a beloved father, grandfather, who departed this life on Thursday, February 6th, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on Tuesday, October 13th, 1942, Ronald spent his life bringing joy and kindness to those around him.

A resident of Sellersburg Indiana, Ronald was known for his longstanding career as a professional truck driver, spending many years driving for Ct Hertzch. His dedication to his work was matched by his love for the natural world, demonstrated by his avid pursuit of hunting and fishing in his younger years. Above all, Ronald cherished the time spent with his family and held them close to his heart.

Ronald Honorably served his country in the United States Navy, a testament to his character and commitment to service. His life was touched and enriched by those who knew him, and he left a lasting legacy within his community.

He is survived by his loving son, Mark Salmon, his daughter, Melissa Smith, and his cherished grandson, Josh Harmon. Ronald is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Howard, by his father, Kenneth Salmon, by his beloved wife, Hazel F. Salmon,  by his brothers, Kenny Dale Salmon and Bob Salmon, and by his step-father, Lige Howard.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
