Rodney L. Brown , 89, went to be with the lord on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Green Valley Care Center in New Albany, Indiana. He was born into this world on March 2, 1928 to the late Leroy and Vada (LaHue) Brown in Harrison County, Indiana. Mr. Brown retired from Banner Transfer where he worked as a professional driver. He honorably served his country in the United States Army 32nd Infantry during the Korean War. He was a member of the Sellersburg Church of Christ and the Local 89 Teamsters (Louisville, Kentucky).  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leroy Brown, Jonnie Brown, Albert Brown, Robert Brown , Raleigh Brown, Maurice Brown, Joseph Streub and his sister, Elizabeth Coleman.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lorene Brown, his son, Terry Brown of Jeffersonville, Indiana and his daughter, Karen (Paul) Burks of Louisville. Mr. Brown also leaves behind his grandchildren, Bethany, Denver and Autumn.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with a private interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
