Obituary

Robert Earl "Bob" Prather , 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2020  at Diversicare of Providence in New Albany, Indiana. He was born on January 15, 1931 in Sellersburg, Indiana to the late Morris and Grace Prather (Hargeshimer). Mr. Prather honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Brandeis Machinery after 29 years where he served as a warranty analyst. Mr. Prather was a member of the American Legion Post 204 in Sellersburg, Optimist Club of Clarksville, the Kiwanis Club and the Southern Indiana Rail Road Club of Jeffersonville. He also served as the commander of the Falcon Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol.

Survivors include his son, Stephen Prather (Cindy) of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and his sister Jane Royse of Memphis, Indiana. Mr. Prather leaves behind 2 grandchildren to cherish his memory, Stephanie Duncan of Jeffersonville and Stephen Prather of Jeffersonville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.  and on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions can be made to your local VFW or to Kindred Hospice (391 Quartermaster Ct. Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130).
