Sellersburg, Indiana

Robert Anthony Dobbins , 88, entered eternal life on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 16, 1929 to the late Harry and Marry (Bagshaw) Dobbins in Sellersburg, Indiana. Mr. Dobbins Honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Paul Campus) in Sellersburg, the Knights of Columbus in New Albany, and the American Legion Post 204 located in Sellersburg.  Mr. Dobbins retired from Curtis Industries where he worked in sales.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rita Dobbins and his granddaughter, Laura Alexander.

Survivors include his son, Steve Dobbins (Patti) of Shively, Kentucky, his daughters, Yvonne Ray (Steve) of Charlestown, Indiana, Cindy Alexander (Gary) of Sellersburg and Teresa Caldwell (Ray) of Sellersburg, his Companion Joann Tribbey of Sellersburg. Mr. Dobbins also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great- great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Paul Campus) with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the processional to church.
