Phyllis J. Evans , 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky surrounded by her family. She was born on March 29, 1942 in Beattyville, Kentucky to the late Frank and Sara Barnett (Johnson). Mrs. Evans was a retired Insurance agent. She was a very talented artist and enjoyed her hobby of fishing. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Clarence Evans and by her son, Dwayne Evans.

Survivors include her son, Dan Evans (Jan) of Charlestown,  her sisters, Dorothy Couch of Beattyville, Kentucky, Judy Barnett of Jackson, Kentucky ,Patty Sue Barnett of Jackson, Kentucky, her grandchildren, Michele Martin (Bradley), Amanda Evans, and Travis Huff (Hailee). Mrs. Evans also leaves behind her great granddaughter to cherish her memory, Amelia Martin.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
