Penny Adele Thornbury, cherished wife, mother, daughter, and sister, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025 at the age of 53. Born on March 29th, 1972 in Louisville, Kentucky, Penny was a beacon of light and strength for her family and friends.

Penny was known for her warmth, kindness, and bright smile that could light up any room. A resident of Borden, Indiana, Penny dedicated herself both to her family and her work. She served faithfully at Haas Cabinets.

Penny had a profound love for the great outdoors, particularly enjoying camping with her loved ones. Those who knew her well were inspired by her zest for life and her ability to find joy and adventure in the simplest of moments.

Penny is survived by her devoted husband, Ronnie Thornbury of Borden, Indiana, her loving mother, Janet Gregory, her son, Zackery Thornbury, her daughter, Shelbi Thornbury, her brother, Clark Gregory (Shelli), and her adored nephews, Tyler Gregory (Sammi) and Chris Nolot. Penny was preceded in death by her father, Russell Gregory.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Penny touched are invited to a visitation at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) on Monday, August 11th, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, August 12th, 2025 at 10:00 am to celebrate Penny's remarkable life and legacy.
