Pauline J. Beatty , 89, entered eternity on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. Born on September 18, 1934, in Hustonville, Kentucky, she was the cherished daughter of the late Mack and Gladys Johnson (Perkins).

Pauline worked whole heartedly  as an executive secretary for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). She was a member of Northside Christian Church in New Albany, where her faith and fellowship brought her great joy.

An avid reader and painter, Pauline had a zest for life that included a love of travel, with Hawaii and Jackson, Wyoming, being among her favorite destinations. Her dear companion, her dog Rudy, was a source of immense joy, and their walks together were her treasured pastime.

Pauline's family wishes to extend special thanks to Becky Morris, Trena Sturgeon, and the staff of Autumn Woods for their compassionate care and support they extended to Pauline. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harry Beatty and by her brother, Glen Johnson.

Survivors include her daughters, Rhonda Steele (Waitman) of Sellersburg, Indaina, Sandra Verble of Sellersburg, her brothers, Charles Johnson (Velma) of Danville, Kentucky, Garland Johnson (Vicky) of Hustonville, Kentucky and her grandchildren, Stephanie Couperus of Olympia, Washington, Jake Steele of Sellersburg, Cameron Verble of Sellersburg and Brien Verble of Sellersburg.  Pauline also leaves 2 great-grandchildren to cherish her legacy, Chloe Couperus and Mack Couperus.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
