Patricia "Pat" Rose Eckert , 77, gracefully transitioned into eternal peace on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on December 19, 1946, to the late Morris and Alma Blankenbaker (Goldsmith), Pat's life was defined by her devotion to family.
A dedicated homemaker, Pat found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether she was skillfully sewing, unraveling the mysteries of puzzles, casting lines while fishing, weaving intricate crochet patterns, nurturing her vibrant flowerbeds, or tenderly caring for hummingbirds, Pat's days were filled with a gentle rhythm of love and creativity.
Pat is reunited in eternity with her brother, Sonny, her sister, Carol, and her sisters-in-law, Carol- Ann Blankenbaker and Lois Eckert as well as her brothers-in-law, Dave Eckert, Robert Eckert, James Eckert and Paul Stone.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 54 years, Fred Eckert, her son, Freddie Eckert (Robin) of Sellersburg, Indiana, her daughter, Melissa Cook (Alan) of Borden, Indiana, her step-daughter, Kerri Flanagan (Joe) of Louisville, Kentucky, her grandchildren, Heather Gugenheim (Neal), Allie Broaddus, Trey Eckert, her great-grandchildren, Rowan, Sophia and River. She is also survived by her brother, Ronny Blankenbaker (Tina) of Louisville, Kentucky, her sister, LaVeta Beaver (Phil) of Sellersburg, and her sisters-in-law, Carol Eckert of Memphis, Indiana, and Brenda Ritter of Sellersburg.
Funeral services will be held on at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172). Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Sunday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
