It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Johnson, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Patricia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born on Saturday, February 13th, 1932, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and spent her later years residing in Sellersburg, Indiana.
Patricia was an Office Manager, dedicating many years to her career before enjoying her well-deserved retirement. She was known for her unwavering work ethic, keen organizational skills, and a gentle spirit that warmed the hearts of those around her.
Patricia shared her life with her beloved husband, the late James L. Johnson, and was a devoted mother to two sons. She is survived by her sons Jim Johnson (Doris) and Steve Johnson. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, brothers Marvin DeArk (Jimmy Lou) and Terry DeArk (Debbie), and sisters Wanda Cates, Joyce Palmer (Jim), and Bonnie Holland (Jack).
Preceding her in death were her parents, Francis and Beulah DeArk, her son Vernon DeArk, and her cherished spouse, James. Patricia was also a proud grandmother to five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, whom she adored and cherished deeply.
Patricia found great joy in tending to her flower beds. She possessed a vibrant curiosity and a passion for exploration, which took her on memorable journeys across the country. Her travels from Alaska to Maine, her delightful vacations in Florida, and her adventures in Hawaii were among her most cherished experiences.
Patricia also enjoyed working on puzzles, where she found relaxation and satisfaction in solving complex challenges.
