It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy L. Vest, a cherished member of the Henryville, Indiana community. Nancy peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born on Saturday, November 3rd, 1934, in Sellersburg, Indiana, where she began her journey filled with love, dedication, and service.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lucy Fox, and her beloved husband, Walter Vest. They shared a beautiful life together, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and community service.

Nancy dedicated 13 years of her professional life as a Cook for the West Clark School System, where she was known for her delicious meals and warm spirit. Her contributions went beyond her occupation as she touched the lives of the students and staff she served.

Throughout her life, Nancy enjoyed reading and gardening, passions that she cultivated alongside her vibrant community involvement. She was a devoted member of the Bethel Baptist Church, where she actively participated in church events and served as a past Girl Scout leader, mentoring young girls and fostering their growth and confidence.

Nancy is survived by her loving daughters—Ramona Lott (Steven) of Longview, Texas; Tammy McKinley (Dale) of Sellersburg; Maria Vest of Henryville; and Wanda Vest (John) of New Albany—who carry forward her legacy of love and compassion. Her 68-year marriage stands as a testament to enduring love and partnership, cherished by their family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) with interment to follow at Forest Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
