Monna Jean Reed , 91,of New Albany, Indiana passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Kindred Rolling Hills Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center, located in New Albany.

She was born on Wednesday May 14,1924 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late William Bryant and Eva Marie Ayers. Survivors are daughter Carolyn Spurgin Sorg(John) of Sellersburg, Indiana and son Jesse Spurgin(Terry) of Chandler, Arizona, eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren along with seven great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sisters and five brothers. Mona Jean loved babies. As the oldest child she loved and cared about babies her entire life. She grew up in Brown County but lived most of her life in Jennings County, Indiana where she made numerous friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday January 27, 2016 at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Hwy 311 Sellersburg, Indiana) with burial to follow at Silver Creek Cemetery.
