Mima "Lou" Meyer , a cherished resident of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on a sunny Saturday, May 25th, 1939, in Oatsville, Indiana, Lou was a beacon of warmth, creativity, and devotion throughout her life.
A loving homemaker, Lou found immense joy in her family and her community. She was a faithful member of the Bluelick Christian Church of Memphis, Indiana. Her hands were often busy with crafts and ceramics, beautifully showcasing her boundless creativity. A dedicated bingo enthusiast, Lou enjoyed gathering with friends, sharing laughter and creating enduring memories.
Lou was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence Meyer; her father, John Phillips; her mother, Dorothy Christmas; her brother, John Phillips; her sister, Colleen Smith; her grandmother, Jessie Hughes; and her mother-in-law, Laura Meyer. Despite these profound losses, she maintained a steadfast spirit and deep commitment to her family.
She leaves behind a rich legacy through her loving family: her sons, Donnie R. Meyer and Brian K. Meyer (Jana); her treasured grandchildren, Aimee Radford (Chris), Ryan Meyer (Shauna) and Tiffany Hall (George); and her adored great-grandchildren, Zoe Radford, Grayson Meyer, Landon Meyer, Brayden Meyer and Sophia Hall. She is also survived by her dear sister, Rosemary Stone (Larry), who shared in her life's journey with love and laughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday March 31, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to: Alzheimer's Association of Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana (6100 Dutchman's Lane, Louisville, Kentucky 40202) or to Down Syndrome of Louisville (5001 South Hurstbourne Parkway, Louisville, Kentucky 40291).
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff of Autumn Woods (Legacy Lane) and Southern Care Hospice for the exceptional care they provided to Lou and her family during this difficult time.
