Michael Frank Vogel , 75, passed away peacefully at his home in Sellersburg, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 23, 2024. Born on August 16, 1948, in New Albany, Indiana, Michael was the beloved son of Harold and Dorothy Vogel (Loucks).

A dedicated and honorable army veteran, Michael served his country with distinction. He was a cherished member of the American Legion Post 204. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church. Additionally, Michael found camaraderie and friendship as a member of the Moose Lodge 1757 in Sellersburg.

Michael's work ethic and skill were evident in his long and successful career. He worked as a machine mechanic for 24 years at Louisville Cement and continued his career for another 17 years at BF Goodrich, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

Michael's life was defined by his service, dedication, and love for his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Michael was preceded in death by his two sisters, Phyllis and June and by his two brothers, Danny and Tim.

Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Vogel of Sellersburg, his son, Daniel Vogel (Trish), his daughter, Carrie Kauffman (Ron), his granddaughter, Lucie Kauffman and his sisters, Mary Canter, Jane Meyer Briscoe (Barret).

A mass will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, June 3, 2024 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (2253 W. St. Joe Road, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172). Visitation will be held on Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the mass.
