Mary C. Purlee , 78, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 15, 2018. She was born on March 24, 1940 to the late Imel and Opal Stewart (Cress) in Salem, Indiana. Mrs. Purlee was the owner/operator of "The Body Shop" a fitness and tanning salon formerly located in Sellersburg, Indiana. She also catered weddings and made wedding cakes. Mrs. Purlee enjoyed hosting bus trips for her customers to vacation destinations all over the United States. In her retirement years Mrs. Purlee worked at the Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany, where she also was a member.  She was preceded in death by her Daughter Melisa Purlee and by her two sisters, Ilene Kirk and Francis Jones.

Survivors include her loving husband, Bruce Purlee of Sellersburg, her sons, Terry Purlee (Diane), Scott Purlee (Dawn) and Robert Purlee (Kim). Mrs. Purlee is also survived by her grandchildren,  Heather Purlee, Angie Cunningham (Brady), Jessica Leister (Andrew) and Michael Wells, great grandchildren, Cody Cunningham, Catie Cunningham, Casey Cunningham and Brady Cunningham.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem, Indiana. Visitation will take place on Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
