Sellersburg, Indiana

Mary L. Schafer Anderson , 91, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Clarksville, Indiana. She was born on November 19, 1924 in Sellersburg, the daughter of Charles and Flora Schafer.  Mary was retired from the Clark County Government Recorder's Office, where she worked for 63 years.  Prior to that, she worked at the Indiana Ammunition plant during World War II. She was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Sellersburg. She was a member of the Chit-Chat Club, VFW Post #1693 in New Albany, and the American Legion Post #204 in Sellersburg. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Anderson.

Sons:                       Steve (Yvonne) Anderson- Cynthina, Kentucky

Joe (Teresa) Anderson- Floyds Knobs, Indiana

Ron  (Petie) Anderson- Louisville, Kentucky

Don (Barbara) Anderson- Jeffersonville, Indiana

Daughter:                Anna (James) Huff- Jeffersonville, Indiana

11 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren

A Funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Thursday, July 14, 2016 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, (St. Joe Hill Campus), with burial to follow at St. Joe Hill Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM Wednesday at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Rev. Bob Dowd, Holy Cross Mission Center, PO Box 543, Notre Dame, IN 46556.
