With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Lois Haycraft, a deeply cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and beloved member of the Sellersburg community. Lois peacefully departed this world on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on a serene Tuesday, March 27, 1934, in Hodgenville, Kentucky, Lois was a beacon of love, warmth, and kindness to all who knew her. Her early life was enriched by the rolling hills of Kentucky, where she developed a lifelong passion for horses a joy she cherished throughout her years. A devoted homemaker, Lois dedicated her life to nurturing her family, offering them unyielding support and abundant love. Her gentle spirit and welcoming home created a haven for family gatherings and cherished memories. Lois is lovingly remembered by her son, Kent Haycraft, and his wife, Paula. Her legacy continues through her granddaughter Tiffany and her husband, Alex. Lois's love extended to her great-grandsons, Braydon and Taylor, her great-granddaughter Alayna, and her great-great-granddaughter, Rowan. Her cherished niece Sandra who she loved dearly and her husband, Bill, also held a special place in her heart, alongside great-nephew Brian and great-niece Melanie, and her husband, Ford. Lois was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Bettie Nicholas, her devoted spouse, Harold Haycraft, her son, Kevin Haycraft, her brother Melford, sisters Korelia, Lila, and Eileena, her grandson Brandon, and her great-grandson Christian. They now reunite in a place of peace and everlasting love. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lois's life and bid her farewell at Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg, IN. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service at 6:00 P.M.. Lois will be laid to rest on Thursday, December 19, at 11:00 am at Louisville Memorial Gardens West, where she will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Arrangements are under the thoughtful care of Garr Funeral Home. Mary Lois Haycraft's gentle soul will be forever missed, yet her memory will live on in the love she shared with her family and friends
