Maria Enedina Valvasori Streckfus , 78, passed away on January 22, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Enedina, "Dina" to her friends, was born in San Andrea, Italy on February 5, 1940 to Marcello and Lina (Garbo) Valvasori. In 1960, she moved to New Albany, Indiana after marrying her husband, Dave Streckfus, who had been stationed in Italy.  In 1972, Dina and Dave opened Winemakers & Beermakers Supply.  They created a store where customers became friends, and friends became family.  Dina loved her store and she loved her customers, only retiring in August of 2018.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank David Streckfus; her parents, Marcello and Lina Valvasori; and her sister, Aurora DeNardi. Surviving is her daughter, Loreana Streckfus Sutherlin (Doug) of Sellersburg; grandchildren, Giovanni, Lily, Sophia and Olivia; brother, Giovanni Valvasori (Bruna), Italy; Brother-in-law, Ettore DeNardi, Italy; Sister-in-law, Judy Streckfus Pangburn (Bob), Denver, CO; nephews, Massimo Valvasori, Christopher Pangburn (April), and Stephen Pangburn; nieces, Cristiana DeNardi (Paolo), Morgana DeNardi (Walter), Rossella Valvasori (Danilo), and Marilyn Pangburn Ziliak.

Funeral services will be held at Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg at 11am on Saturday, February 9 with interment at Sellersburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2-8pm on Friday, February 8 and from 9-11am Saturday morning before the funeral service at the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Amedisys Foundation which provides financial assistance to hospice patients and families in their time of need.
