Margie Jean Richey , 93, entered eternal life on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at her home in Speed, Indiana with her family by her side. She was born at home on April 17, 1929 to the late Agnes Martin (Jackson) in Carr Township, Indiana. Margie retired from ICI where she worked in many departments throughout her career. She was a member of the Speed Memorial Church, Order of the Eastern Star and the Bunco Club. Margie was a former Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. She enjoyed animals dearly, especially her 3 chickens, her rabbit and her 2 Cockatiels.  Margie made sure all of the neighborhood cats were cared for. They could always find a meal on her front porch. Margie was preceded in death by the love of her life, Robert "John" Richey.

Survivors include her 2 sons, Robert R. Richey, Jr. of Eastview, Kentucky, James Richey (Dana) of Sellersburg, Indiana and her 2 daughters, Willetta Chappell of Sellersburg and Virgie Howlett (Calvin) of Borden, Indiana. Margie also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild to cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Willeys Chapel Cemetery in Borden, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
