Lucy J. Hines , 100, passed away peacefully at her home in Sellersburg, Indiana on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. Lucy was born on December 22, 1919 in Spencer County, Kentucky to the late William and Lillian Green (Cozine). She was a 68 year member of the Sellersburg Church of Christ and a 75 year member of the Eastern Star. Lucy's hobbies included fishing, cooking, card games and playing Words with Friends on her tablet. She was a very talented quilter. Lucy quilted by hand many beautiful quilts for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1978, Jarvis Henderson, by her second husband in 2003, Jake Hines, by her 3 brothers, Charles, Henry and George Green, by her 3 sisters, Evelyn Schwendy, Mary Vincent, Nell Qualkinbush and by her granddaughter, Kelly Bridgens.

Survivors include her sons, John B. Henderson (Twila) of Edwardsville, Indiana, Jim K. Henderson (Lora) of Sellersburg, daughters, Ruth Ann Fitzpatrick (Michael) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Rita Lockhart (Bill) of Arlington, Texas, Twila J. Yaste of Louisville, Kentucky and her step-daughter, Sharon Huckleberry (Doug) of Sellersburg. Lucy also leaves behind 14 grandchildren 24 great grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren to cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 1, 2020 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg. Her final resting place will be at the Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
