Linda H. Mutchler, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, at her home in Charlestown, Indiana. She was born on June 26, 1947, in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, bringing love and joy to her family and all who knew her throughout her 78 years. Linda spent many dedicated years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Kindred Health Care in New Albany, where her warmth and compassion touched the lives of countless patients. Her passion for nursing was matched only by her love for her family and her wide variety of interests. A true lover of life, Linda found joy in the little thingswhether it was the thrill of a good natured game of Bingo, spending afternoons with the TV classics Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, or the excitement of cheering on her favorite team, the Eagles. Her home was always filled with the gentle purrs of her beloved cats, a testament to her loving nature.
Linda is survived by her loving family, including her son Lawrence Mutchler (Beth Ann), her daughters, Cami Mutchler and Angela Cochran (Terry), Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Megan McCawley, Cami Cox, Dylan Cox, and Viviane Cochran and her great-grandchildren, Landon Couch and Lynnli Couch. Her memory lives on through her siblings, Jane VanWhy and Lawrence Gordon. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Edward and Bernice Gordon, and her dear spouse, Charles Joseph Mutchler.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Friday, February 20th, 2026, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172). A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the same location, celebrating Linda's life and the beautiful memories she leaves behind. She will be laid to rest at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana with her husband Charles, following the service.
