Linda Sue Layman, devoted homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2nd, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on January 10, 1952, in New Albany, IN, Linda spent her life nurturing and caring for her family in Sellersburg, IN, where she resided until her passing.
Linda was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Morton and Nellie Taylor, her cherished husband of over 50 years, Thomas Layman, Sr., and her dear brother, Dennis Taylor. She is survived by her sons, Thomas Layman, Jr.; Roy Layman; her brother, Edward Taylor; her sister, Ethel Lee; her precious grandchildren, Michael, Jacob, and Shyla; and her great-granddaughter, Lakenzie, who brought immense joy to her life.
A born-again Christian, Linda was a woman of unwavering faith and resilience. Following a devastating car accident, her physical capabilities were limited, but her indomitable spirit remained unbroken. She found solace and happiness in watching movies and classic television, with a special fondness for Westerns, which filled her days with laughter and nostalgia.
Linda's life will be celebrated with a visitation held at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 31, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172), on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm at the same location, where family and friends will gather to honor a life well-lived and deeply cherished. Linda will be laid to rest at Sellersburg Cemetery following the service.
