Lena Kathryn Thompson , 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born at home in Crawford County, Indiana on October 12, 1928 to the late Knofel and Lettie Walk (Rawlings).  Lena retired from Sunoco products were she served as an inspector. She was a mother to eight children, which kept her busy throughout her life. She enjoyed the quality time she spent with her children, her grandchildren and her great-great grandchildren. Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Marion H. Thompson, Sr. by her four sons, Marion H. Thompson, Jr., David Kent Thompson, Gary Lee Thompson and Eddie Thompson, by her brother, Franklin Walk and by her two sisters, Frances Bowman and Helen Able.

Survivors include her daughters, Sherry Casey (Robert) of Borden, Indiana, Kris Casteel (Larry) of Memphis, Indiana, Connie Arrington (Ronald) of Sellersburg, Indiana Donna Blakley (Melvin) of Memphis, Indiana her brother, Gary Walk of Arizona and her sister, Betty Plaiss of New Albany, Indiana. Lena also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren to cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. The family request that all visitors wear a mask while inside the funeral home.
