Lawrence "Sonny" Ooley , 82, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born at home on September 13, 1934 to the late Fred and Augusta Ooley in Borden, Indiana. Mr. Ooley honorably served his country in the United States Army and was a retired professional painter. He was a member of the Daisy Hill United Methodist Church in Borden. Mr. Ooley was preceded in death by his brother, J.B. Ooley and his sisters, Lula Mae Goff, Mary Jo Furney, Martha Hamner, and Icelene Faye Hildman.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Joanna Ooley of Sellersburg, his sons, Mark (Deborah) Ooley of Fisherville, Kentucky, Joseph Ooley of Borden, Indiana and Shawn (Cheryl) Ooley of Colorado Springs, Colorado and his daughter, Tonya Ooley of New Albany. Mr. Ooley also leaves behind his grandchildren, Matthew Ooley, Kimberly Ooley, Brandon Ooley, Clinton Smith and his great grandchildren, Gracie Lowe, Lillian Smith, Kaytee Cummings, Kayla Cummings, Kylee Cummings, and Carter Cummings.

Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with cremation to follow. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.garrfuneralservices.com.
