Lavoice Lewis , 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on May 23, 1927 in Childress Texas to the late Joe and Ethell Matthews (Alexander). Mrs. Lewis was a home maker and a member of the Stony Point Christian Church in Charlestown.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry C. Lewis and by her sister, Ina Mae Webb.

Survivors include her son, Rodney Lewis (Judy) of Charlestown, Indiana, her daughter, Jo Carole Dickson of Sellersburg, her sister Jo Nell Bradley (Don) of Ft. Worth, Texas,  her grandchildren, Sean Dickson (Christy) of Sellersburg, Christopher Lewis (Amanda) of Sellersburg and Jennifer Potts (John) of Charlestown. Mrs. Lewis also leaves behind 5 great grandchildren to cherish her memory, Graham Dickson, Sophie Potts, Parker Lewis, Crosby Dickson and Aiden Potts.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, October 21, 2019 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Sellersburg, Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions are suggested to: Stony Point Christian Church (10110 Stony Point Rd, Charlestown, IN 47111).
