Kolton Allen “Kolt” Worden, 11, was born on January 1, 2015, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to Shanda Priest (Worden) and Allen Michael Worden. He entered eternal rest on Monday, August 31, 2026.

Kolt had just begun the fifth grade at Cloverport Independent School. Those who had the privilege of knowing him knew a boy who was completely and wonderfully himself. He was quirky, goofy, a jokester, and, as his family lovingly describes him, “a total clown.” He loved making people laugh, making silly faces, dancing whenever the mood struck him, and finding a way to bring a smile to the people around him. Beneath all that silliness was an incredibly loving and caring boy who freely gave hugs and affection to the people he loved.

Some of Kolt’s happiest times were simply spent with his brothers and his friends. He especially enjoyed being with his older brother, Kaleb—even if being together often meant Kolt walking past him just to smack him on the back of the head or find some other way to pick on him. Those playful moments between the two brothers captured Kolt perfectly.

At home, Kolt loved hanging out on the couch with his mom and brothers, watching movies and YouTube videos, laughing together, and just being close to his family. At bedtime, he loved having his mom give him “scratches” on his head and legs. His mom wasn’t simply “Mom” to Kolt, either. In true Kolt fashion, he affectionately called her “Mommaceta.”

Another of Kolt’s favorite places in the world was his grandmother Rita’s home. To him, she was simply “Mimi.” He loved spending time there, and when the day was winding down, Kolt would ask Mimi if she was tired and ready to go to bed. These quiet, everyday moments became some of the most precious memories of a little boy who loved being close to his family.

Kolt was an enthusiastic gamer and especially loved Fortnite and Roblox on his Xbox. He took his Fortnite accomplishments seriously and was proud to have made it beyond level 100. Gaming also gave him another community of friends, and he enjoyed playing online with his brother and the gaming buddies he met along the way.

He was also a huge WWE wrestling fan. Among his favorite wrestlers were Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and Dominik Mysterio. Kolt enjoyed basketball as well.

And Kolt definitely knew what he liked when it came to food. McDonald’s chicken nuggets and cheeseburgers were favorites, along with Hot Cheetos, Airheads Xtremes Bites, and Dr Pepper. A special favorite was Blue Goo ice cream from The Barge Inn Restaurant.

Kolt also loved his animals, including his appropriately described “fat cat,” Fruitcake, and Jeff’s German Shepherd, Ziah.

More important than any game he played, food he loved, or activity he enjoyed was the way Kolt made people feel. His friends knew him as the goofy, funny kid who could make them laugh. His family knew the other side, too—the affectionate boy who loved hugs, cuddling on the couch, being with his brothers, and spending time with his mom and Mimi.

Kolt didn’t have to try to be anyone other than himself. He danced. He made goofy faces. He joked. He picked on his brothers. He played his games. He gave hugs. And he made ordinary moments a whole lot more fun simply by being there.

Those are the moments his family never wants forgotten.

Kolt is survived by his mother, Shanda Priest (Worden); his father, Allen Michael Worden; his brothers, Kaleb Worden, Korbin Worden, and Karter Worden; his grandmothers, Rita “Mimi” Estes and Tina Lynch; his aunts, Donna Estes, Jan Stinebruner, and Margie Estes; his uncles, Jerry Priest, Poon Estes, Danny Estes, Justin Estes, and Gregory Estes; along with his extended family, multiple cousins, many friends, teachers, classmates, and online gaming buddies who were such an important part of his life.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Bruce Estes and Erik Worden.

Kolt was only given 11 years, but those years were filled with laughter, silliness, hugs, family, friendship, and love. For the people who knew and loved him, there will always be a thousand little things that bring Kolt back to mind—a Fortnite game, a WWE match, a Dr Pepper, Blue Goo ice cream, a goofy face, an unexpected dance, or someone laughing just a little too hard.

And when those moments come, may they be reminders of the funny, loving, one-of-a-kind boy who could make an entire room smile just by being Kolt.
