Georgetown, IN - Kelly Monroe Goode, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on Thursday, March 5th, 2026, at the age of 55. Born in Villa Rica, Georgia, on the Fourth of July 1970, a day marked by fireworks and celebration, Kelly brought a similar spark and warmth to all who knew him.

Kelly was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served bravely in Operation Iraqi Freedom. His dedication to his country was matched only by his passion for competitive swimming, a pursuit that saw him dream of one day competing in the Olympics. Outside of the pool and his military service, Kelly was a security guard, where he was known for his steadfast dedication to keeping others safe.

Music was another of Kelly's great loves. Whether it was listening, or sharing it with others, music was a constant companion throughout his life. His laughter and spirit will be dearly missed during these moments of quiet reflection.

Kelly is survived by his loving family, including his son, Easton Goode; and his step-daughter, Kayla Duarte, daughter Sophia Goode; his sisters, Kimberli Parrott and Karen Duthie; . He was a cherished grandfather to two grandchildren and held a special place in the hearts of his eight nieces, one nephew, four great-nieces, and one great-nephew.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Goode, his brother, Daniel Harris, and his sister, LaDonna Schumacher. The family finds solace in the thought that they are all reunited once more.

A visitation will be held at Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg, Indiana, on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm at the same location. Arrangements are being handled by Garr Funeral Home, who share in the community's mourning of Kelly's passing.

Kelly Monroe Goode leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and a life well-lived. His memory will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
