Karen Sue Stinson , a beloved wife, mother and grandmother entered eternity peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the age of 80, at her home in Sellersburg, Indiana. Born on April 30, 1944, in Clark County Indiana, Karen touched many lives with her compassion and dedication to the care of others throughout her lifetime.

Karen dedicated her career to serving patients as a registered nurse, working for many years at St. Anthony Hospital and the University of Louisville. Following her esteemed work at these hospitals, she specialized in ultrasound, focusing on high-risk pregnancies. Her influence extended beyond her immediate patients, as she inspired countless young people to embark on careers in healthcare, a testament to her passion and commitment to the field.

Her faith was an important aspect of her life, and she was a member of the Southeast Christian Church, where she gathered strength and community. She participated in many bible studies, always learning as she encouraged her family to do as well.

Karen is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Leonard Eugene Stinson, and her cherished daughters, Kim Flora (Phil) and Denise Hendershot (Hal). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to her grandchildren, Kyle Flora (Amy), Kaitlin Flora, Haley Hendershot, and Evan Hendershot. She leaves behind her siblings and many nieces and nephews, who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos A. Haas and Wygonda M. Haas, who welcomed her into eternal rest. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service in the funeral home chapel.
