Joyce Lee Baker , 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born at home in Borden, Indiana on March 4, 1941 to the late Homer and Leola Potts (Russell). Joyce retired from the United States Census Bureau after 20 plus years of service.  She was a member of the Borden Community Church. Joyce enjoyed traveling out west and working in her flower gardens in her free time, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Vernon Baker, Sr. and by her three brothers, Victor, Vincent and Michael Potts.

Survivors include her sons, Kyle D. Baker (Carrie) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, H. Vernon Baker, Jr. of Los Lunas, New Mexico, her daughter, Brigitte Krob of Borden, Indiana, her sister, Betty L. Kearney of New Albany, grandchildren, Kylene, Jeremy, Kristin, Jennifer, Matthew and Chloe. Joyce also leaves behind 6 great grandchildren to cherish her memory, Brandon, Jaden, Shaylon, Joshua, Anastasia and Dominic.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Borden. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
