Joyce Ann Harbin Nokes, 84, of Sellersburg, IN, passed away Saturday, August 29th, 2026 at 3:15 A.M. Joyce is the daughter of Carl D. and Mary A. Harbin. Joyce was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family meant everything to her, and she was also a mother to many other children besides her own. She was a prayer warrior and prayed daily over the many photographs that sat in her living room as well as an extensive prayer list. She was a woman of great faith in the Lord, and read her Bible and devotion books daily. She regularly attended Cornerstone First Church of Jeffersonville, IN. She loved life, loved to laugh, and loved people. She was also an avid gardener, and her yard, which was full of beautiful plants and flowers, was a testament to her skill.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mary Harbin, husband, William Ronald Nokes, siblings, Bobby Harbin, David Harbin, Alice Holder, Betty Zollman, and James Harbin.

She is survived by her children Steven Nokes (Linda) of Sellersburg, IN, Rebecca Jordan (John) of Corydon, IN, and Daniel Nokes (Deanna) of Mooresville, IN, as well as her grandchildren, Kris Nokes (Rachel) of Tyler, TX, Jennifer Nokes of New Albany, IN, Jonathan Jordan (Janell) of Sellersburg, IN, Dana Galoozis (Charlie) of Bargersville, IN, and Dustin Nokes of Mooresville, IN, and three great grandchildren, Jovie Galoozis, Mary Jordan, and Ava Galoozis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) with interment to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
