Joseph Reo Ellis , 56, entered eternal life after a courageous battle with cancer at Baptist Health Louisville. He was born on May 8, 1966 to the late William and Betty Ellis (Goff) in Louisville, Kentucky. Joseph was a former maintenance technician for the Spencer County Health Department. He was a very talented artist. This could be seen in his many beautiful drawings and ceramic pieces. Joseph enjoyed being in the outdoors. He loved gardening and caring for his plants. In his free time enjoyed a trip to the bingo hall and trying his luck on the scratch off tickets. Joseph was preceded in death by his two brothers, William A. Ellis, Jr. and Robert Ray Ellis.

Survivors include his sister, Marie Dishman (Tony) of Sellersburg, Indiana, his son, Joseph R. Dishman (Ashton) of Alaska and his daughter, Jasmyne Ellis (Jimmy) of New Albany, Indiana.  Joseph also leaves behind his granddaughter to cherish his memory, Everly Dishman.

Cremation was chosen to honor Joseph's wishes.
