John Raymond Nutter , 76, entered eternal life on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born to John and Isabell Nutter on June 5, 1947 in Fayetteville, West Virginia. John retired from the United States Army after 28 years of honorable service to his country. He was also a retired history professor. In his free time he enjoyed a peaceful day of fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Pennington Nutter.

Survivors include his sons, Raymond Nutter (Katie) of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Terrance Nutter (Kathy) of Gallagher, West Virginia and Keith Nutter (Carla) of Sellersburg, Indiana, his daughter, Jennifer Nutter (Don) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and his sisters, Sharon Pennington (Gary) of Pratt, West Virginia and Linda Johnson. John also leaves 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandson to cherish his memory.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) with interment to follow at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
